The Big Stage

I’ve frequently said that if I weren’t so invested in photographing people that would be photographing architecture. The hard lines, right angles, and finding the balance of positive and negative space call to me. So I knew that when I ‘upgraded’ my Lumination setup from a wooden box with a sheet of plexi taped on top, to the beast you see here in 2016, a passion project would undoubtedly result.

I wanted to incorporate the sheen and reflections of the acrylic tops and aluminum supports. Beautiful lines and geometry presented themselves effortlessly. I immediate looked to my community of movement-based artists to create their own physical structure that complimented the architecture beneath them.

Of Flesh and metal. Of physique and the physical.
